's a look at the weather. let's check traffic with elizabeth. >> thanks. unfortunately we have big problems developing now in sunnyvale. we're talking about a jackknifed big rig right there approaching the lawrence expressway exit in the southbound lanes of 101. now, three lanes are blocked in the southbound direction. no reports of any injuries with this jackknifed rig or what exactly the truck was carrying but we know that traffic is just squeezing by right now partially in that left lane and the center divide. also the on-ramp, the lawrence expressway on-ramp to southbound 101 is completely blocked. 280 is the best alternate in the area. not big backups now but if this continues to be out there for a while which it sounds like it could, chp just issued a traffic alert for that stretch, they will just said that they are hoping to get lanes 30 to 40 minutes after the tow crew arrives arrives son scene. we are waiting for word for when the crew arrives and then it could be 40 minutes from then so this is going to be an issue for the start of the morning commute for sure. so 280 a good alter

street is worried about washington. late wednesday moody's one of the big three credit rating agencies warning it might have to lower the rating if lawmakers don't come to an agreement on raising the debt ceiling. in the statement it said the action was prompted by the possibility that the debt limit woil not be raised in time to prevent a missed payment on u.s. bonds with a small but rising risk of ashort-lived default. economists say if the aaa rating is lowered it will throw the financial markets into chaos and the cost of borrowing would go up to everything from morlts to car loans. ben bernanke warned. >> i think the worst outcome if we don't raise the limit, at some point we default on debt and that would create as i said before, a huge financial calamity. >> reporter: sources say the president knew about the moody's warning as he headed into wednesday meeting which all sides describe as tense. republican majority leader eric cantor cited the president as saying i have reached my limit. he left saying i'll see you tomorrow. the two sides couldn't even agree about what happened in

trip. many on board are from northern california, tonight's big story we hear from family members of those on board. >> traumatic. >> some of his friends are missing. it's something different. details on the search. >> these photos from the mexican navy show survivors being rescued. this man is rescued on a stretcher, others get medical attention. it was supposed to be a 7 day trip but came to an end a day after. you can see the men crammed together, and some bowing their heads. this is a picture of the vessel that sank after being hit by storm. it happened sunday morning in mexico after a storm. there were 30 tourists on board. and 16 crew members. according to the website, it has been on the gulf of california since 1989. passengers say the boat was less than two miles from shore when it tipped over. a resident said i am relieved i am alive. monday the u.s. coast guard in san diego sent a helicopter like this one after the mexican navy asked for assistance. crews haven't found anybody in the water. kron 4 news. >>> the why of one man talked about the ordeal that her husband went

or less delays at sfo so no big delays yet. let's check in with more on the weather forecast. here's kristy seifkin. >> good morning. a little bit gray out there this morning. we are seeing a lot of what we saw yesterday in terms of low clouds and some drizzle at the coast. satellite showing that pretty much the coastline, bay and inland spots are all blanketed in fog right now although we will see a little bit of sunshine later on inland. temperatures right now pretty mild and pretty similar. 59 in oakland and fremont, 58 livermore, 59 redwood city, 57 napa. highs for today keeping them well below average, 10 to 15 degrees below where we should be. 73 as a high in fairfield, 56 for pacifica, 73 in santa rosa. extended forecast showing the cool trends over the next several days and then a gradual warmup on the weekend, sunshine there, as well. next week, those temperatures will be closer to where we should be, mid to high 80s inland. >>> we have roadwork to contend with near the bay bridge. first, here's live look at the bay bridge toll plaza. so far, so good, no major snags. the r

's left here of the fire that burned here, blackened that area right over by the railroad tracks. big flames that created quite a sight. the first started about 9:29, then 10:05 on the port chicago highway where we are here, and then 11:00 over on wheldon lane. all in the bay point area. some people were celebrating the fourth of july and setting off their own fireworks, and we asked the fire chief about a possible connection. >> there are a lot of fireworks out, our fire marshals are out trying to determine what the cause of the fires are. obviously that's one of the reasons that we try and -- we don't have sane and safe and sane fireworks here in the county, they are illegal. that's one of the reasons to make sure we don't have these types of fires. >> the fire did burn very close to some railroad tracks that are nearby. we're told some trains had to slow down. it also burned the the fire chief says close to a garage in the area. at this point we're still waiting on word for how many acres were burned. for now, everything is out. reporting live, christie smith, "today in the bay". >

big challenges. the fire started in the rear of this building, and spread up the inside to the walls to the attic. that's where crews had the hardest time knocking it down. because the building has neighbors close on both sides, crews posted their, and in the back to keep it from spreading. the top flat pretty much was gutted. those residents are in europe right now on vacation. the woman who lives in the ground floor unit was with them, until returning home today to find this. a fire that had the whole neighborhood watching. >> it was a stubborn fire because the roof is not a typical roof. it appears to be a flat roof in the street, but it's actually a double peak roof building. so that made it difficult to get access to the attic, and put the attic out. >> i can't find my kitty, sophie. if anybody seeing the blue tabby wandering around without a collar please call the spca. >> is that your biggest concern right now? >> it is, the rest of my animals are safe, and the rest is just stuff. >> reporter: she did have someone house sitting for her while she was gone. that person did escap
